About
Thinking on Credit is the third title in the Price of Thinking family and the paid tier above its free layer. The Price of Thinking is a short book that explains AI with the tools of a first economics course. The Return on Thinking measures the AI boom from primary sources and publishes everything it collects under an open licence. Thinking on Credit takes the same primary sources into the credit stack behind the boom — who owes what, what secures it, who holds it — and sells the judgement that collection alone cannot supply.
It is written by Allan Pedersen, whose essays and working papers on money, financial regulation and the economics of AI appear at Philosophers Mint. Subscriptions are contracted through Aros Capital.
The boundary. Everything at The Return on Thinking stays free and complete at its own level of aggregation; nothing there is withdrawn, delayed or thinned to sell this tier. Thinking on Credit cites the free rows and the free site links to this tier’s existence, not its content. Both use the same conventions — a source, a retrieval timestamp, a tier and a basis on every row, and an assumptions file whose version restates the back-series when it changes.
What it is not. Thinking on Credit publishes accounting and cash-flow arithmetic on disclosed commitments. It assigns no rating, grade or probability of default to any issuer, makes no recommendation to buy, sell or hold any security, and is not investment advice. Where judgement enters, it is an assumption in a versioned file applied to everyone alike, and the departures from the rating agencies’ and supervisors’ conventions are stated where they occur.
